    Question:
    Dear Dr. Website:
    Sir, I have a website. It is very well promoted. So I do not nave any need to change my site or hosting, but I need to sell some books directly from my site.

    Everything I can see on Internet requires some complicate steps and/or changing of host or site.

    Can you advise me some Internet Credit Cards acceptance provider, which will not require hanging of host or registry of a new site, but will provide me with software for my existing site? I appreciate your time. Best regards,
    Thank You

    Answer:
    The reason that the URL changes on many sites when you are placing an order is that the user is redirected to a secure server.

    Unless you place your whole site on a secure server, which you wouldn't want to do since the user would have to type httpS://yoursite.com to get to your site, there is not much else you can do if you wish to provide your customers with a secure environment. A secure server is also a sign of a professional business.

    Each server certificate costs a specific fee, and is only good for one domain name. That way, if folks want to verify that the site is actually secure and is using a legitimate secure server certificate, they can visit Verisign (or other secure server certificate vendor) and see the details for that particular certificate.

    Thanks, and good luck with your site.
    Thanks

    Question:
    Dear Dr. Website:
    I am trying to have an option return go to a link,,, How do I do this.
    <TD><FONT color=blue><select name="Type"> <option>Metal Hatch <option><A href="">Oil Burning</select></A></td></FONT>

    If you can help, I would appreciate it very much.

    Answer:
    You want to use something like the following:
    <SCRIPT LANGUAGE="JavaScript"> <!--// function doArray() { var arylnth =doArray.arguments.length; for ( i = 0 ; i < arylnth ; i++ ) { this[i]=doArray.arguments[i] } } function newpage() { var choose = eval(document.dropdown.site.selectedIndex); if( (choose > 0) && (choose < 17) ) { var section=new doArray('', '/rock/', '/alternative_indie/', '/pop_rb/', '/hiphop/', '/electronic_dance/', '/jazz/', '/country/', '/folk_blues/', '/world/', '/classical/', '/newage/', '/christian_gospel/', '/vocal_theatrical/', '/soundtracks/', '/comedy_spokenword/', '/kids_family/'); var place=section[document.dropdown.site.selectedIndex]; newwindow = window.open(place,"mywin");} } //--> </SCRIPT> <FORM NAME="dropdown"><SELECT NAME="site" onChange="newpage();"> <OPTION SELECTED>Find Your Jamz!! <option>Rock <option>Alternative/Indie <option>Pop/R&B <option>Hip-Hop <option>Electronic/Dance <option>Jazz <option>Country <option>Folk/Blues <option>World <option>Classical <option>New Age <option>Christian/Gospel <option>Vocal/Theatrical <option>Soundtracks <option>Comedy/Spoken Word <option>Kids & Family </SELECT></FORM>

    Note that it opens a new window to display the selected page. If you prefer it load in the same window, change this line:

    newwindow = window.open(place,"mywin");} to this line: window.location=place;}

    Also note that you'll need to change the number of items in the choose < 17) line if you reduce or increase the number of selections. Currently there are 16 selections, hence the number 17 in the function.
    Thanks,

    Question:
    Dear Dr. Website:
    What does it mean when I can not open a site on the internet and when in the bottom left there is something about JavaScript

    Thank you!

    Answer:
    Usually it means that the site uses JavaScript, and you either do not have JavaScript turned on for your browser (more correctly, you have it turned off), or there is an error with the JavaScript on the site that is stopping you from entering it.
    Thanks
