    Question:
    Dear Dr. Website:
I want to create a webpage with frames - there are 3 frames but on loading the page I want one frame to display an external website - the other two are standard stuff that will not change. Is it possible to do this - I need some inspiration!

    Thanks,

    Answer:
In the frame you want the external website, just include the full URL, not just the file name. something like this:

    <IFRAME src="http://www.whatever.com/" width="" height="" scrolling="" frameborder="0"></IFRAME>

    Thanks,

    Question:
    Dear Dr. Website:
I don't know if this is possible, but here I go... We have this web application, that was develop for Netscape 4.7, unfortunatly, there is a report that is not being displayed properly. We are thinking of opening this report in an IE window.

Is it possible from a Netscape window, to open a link into an Internet Explorer window. I was wondering if there was a function of some sort that we can use to open an IE window. So in short we want to spawn IE application from a link in a Netscape window. The page are .jsp.

    Thanks for your help

    Answer:
My first reaction is to point out that you can't control which web browser that visitors to your site will use. Additionally, you can't predict that whether they're using NS 4.7, which by the way currently less than 2% of internet users still use, you won't have any way of knowing if they've also got MSIE installed on the same machine. Most users choose one browser and stay with it. To top all that off, there is no way for you to execute another application on your visitor's machines, MSIE included.

Your best bet is to design your site so that all users can view it, no matter what browser they're using, or what browser version.

    Thanks,

    Question:
    Dear Dr. Website:
I tried to find my website through search engine. But cannot find my webpage. Is there anything that i can type or a keyword that i can put inside my website so that when people type that word my website will be found by search engine ?

    Answer:
Creating a web site is just the beginning of the process. Once the web site is created, it must be submitted to each of the various search engines. That is usually a process that in itself takes several months (the submission process only takes a few hours, but it takes months for the search engines to update their databases with the site data).

Additionally, you need to make sure that you: * used appropriate titles on all your pages * have included the META keyword and description tags in the HEAD of your pages * have used your keywords on the pages themselves

Also, keep in mind that there are millions of pages on the web, and the more specific you can be, the easier it will be for folks to find you by using the search engines. As an example, you wouldn't use "we sell food" in the description, but rather "we sell aged prime rib" or whatever your specialty may be.
