Admit it. Every web developer has some kind of psychological disorder, or other abnormal condition when it comes to building a website.
Personally, I have no problem creating logos and designing a site for clients, but when it comes to a project of my own, such as a personal website, I just can't do it! It takes me forever to try to figure out how I want my website, something of which I know most. Yet, I can know very little about a company's profile and still design a nice logo.
Does any one else have this problem?
I'm sure this isn't the only syndrome there is. Whats yours?

Well, I pretty much suck as a graphic designer, so nothing I do ever satisfies me graphically.
But programming can be similar. If I'm writing code for a client, I just get it done and make it work. When I'm coding some personal project, I'm continually thinking of different ways to do it, experimenting with new techniques, and never just getting it completed.
Maybe you should just find another designer with the same problem, then "hire" yourselves to do the other's web site design. :)

Same, I think I have about a dozen half completed websites hanging around my domain.
I like an idea and work with it, then I leave it for a couple days and dont like it anymore. Then a couple weeks later I look at my site and think I'm in need of updating the design. Vicious circle really.
Maybe you should just find another designer with the same problem, then "hire" yourselves to do the other's web site design. :)
Thats a good idea. I know I would be very critical of the design and not like it though, no matter how nice it is. :p

I still have a personal site in the pipeline... been there for about a year and haven't made any progress.

I'm with you Bathurst, I work on a site and think "neat" but two days later it looks horrible and six months later I wonder if I was mentally challenged when I wrote it.

Yea, I have a few subdomains with half-completed projects lying around. Gotta get focused! I have no idea how, sometime during the process, I just seem to forget about them.

Oh, design represent yourself, it can be something else more. So this not developer syndrome. It's a developer's commonly sickness.
