Okay so Sensation Designs has become Triexa and it will be official probably at the end of the month...

But what steps should I take to ensure that customers are not left confused?

The directory structure of triexa.com and sensationdesigns.com are almost identical, but there are a number of differences. Should I forward all the old pages to the new site, should I put a standard link to the new site, or what?

Sensation Designs is a PR5 site so I want to make a smooth transition to the new website, and have existing customers not be confused either!

Thanks to all for all input

Sounds like a rough dilemma. I would modify the .HTACCESS file on sensationdesign.com to point to the correct files on triexa.com. I would also put a short blurb for about a month or so on your header stating that the old site has moved and to update any/all bookmarks.

An alternate approach would be to display a "We Have Moved" page and automatically re-direct the person after a few seconds. The downside of this transitional page is that a lot of people will just click off.

If you have a mailing list, now would be a good time to inform your customers of the new update.

Transitioning domains is a big deal and you'll likely lose traffic over it :\
