I was working to publish my site to localhost. All of a sudden, I don't
remember what I did wrong, FP starts to ask user name and password for any
connection to the localhost (inetpub/wwwroot). Also, any attempt to open a page from localhost on a browser requires to enter a user and password.
There is only one user on this comp and it is me. So I have no password at all. How do I stop asking this?
Thanks,
Sinan

Can we assume IIS? If so bring up the Internet Information Services Control Monitor and right click on the website. Click on properties, and go to the Directory Security Tab. Click the Edit button and check the box marked "Anonymous access".

Thanks for reply!
Yes, it's IIS. I don't have a local web yet. I just wanted to publish a new one before this problem comes up.
My config on ISS at the moment is like this :
+ SINAN8100 (local computer)
+ Web Sites
+ Default Web Site
"Web Sites" and "Default Web Site" directory security shows that they are both "Anonymous Access" already checked. Also, "Allow IIS control password" checked for both.
Any more advice please?
I checked the IIS Manager and found the "Anonymous Access" was already checked. Also

For the Default Website is Basic Authentification unchecked, and Integrated Windows authentification checked?

I rebooted many times but didn't work. There must be something to get it to ask for password for localhost somewhere. What do you think?
I'm very frustrated. I had to stop working...

Thought of something else last night after my DD's softball game....
Do you have any virtual directories set up that may have this turned on? If so try setting them similiar to above and tell them to change all when prompted.
