Ok, so I got my own domain yesterday (from iPower) and I connected it to my bf's host (dreamhost).

My domain never worked when I type "http://www.mydomain.com", but worked only when we entered "http://mydomain.com"

I tried altering dreamhost's options in the control panel but it didn't work.

And now, neither ways (www.domain.com or domain.com) work for me! At all..

but my boyfriend says he could see the "domain.com" just fine.

I think this is odd... has anybody ever experienced this? What should I do?

Is iPower or Dreamhost to blame for this? I don't know where to go for help. :(

Thanks for reading

Since you only registered it yesterday, it could be that it's still propogating across the 'net.

Oh ok, I guess I should just sit here and be more patient then lol :o

It's somewhat weird that it worked and then didn't work for you, but yeah, if you just sit tight for a couple of days it should be fine.

cool,

i don't know much about DNS and domains etc..how comes it takes so much time, and what needs to be propagated? david?

Here's some information about DNS (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Domain_Name_System) that should clear things up a bit.

And here's a rather short description of propagation with regards to DNS:In the DNS, propagation refers to the automatic retrieval of DNS zone files from a domain's nameservers.
