I enjoy the articles in the beyond html section, and the one on setting up a home web server is good, basic info for a newby. You might want to consider adding a little more information - adding php (or asp), mysql, how to do ssi, etc. Stuff that really is necessary for making web sites these days. You don't have to go into details on how to install and set up that stuff, but at least mention that those are available and where to find them.
How about taking it another step? Add a part 4 and cover setting up a mail server, so the person setting up their own web server can get off the ISP completely and get their email at home on their own mail server.
If a person is capable of setting up and running a web server they can surely go forward and learn how to set up a mail server.
