My client has a sig image that he insists on having on his site
(www.davidhershyphotography.com)
The image looks fine against a white background but when placed against a colored background the letters have white ghosting or jaggies.
How can I eliminate this problem?

Here are some generic explanations
Highlight the text and only the text.
then inverse the selection, in photoshop you do this by (ctrl-shift-i)
then delete whatever is in this new selection.
OR
Save the actual image with the background color desired, this way any semi-transparent layers will have that color set in them.

The Div with the logo (upper left corner) is overlayed by a semi transparent layer (higher z index). Therefore the jaggies are filled with the overlay color. It also shades the logo typeface.
The desired effect would be for the logo to have the higher z index and remain black typeface.

we have redone the background which seems to solve the problem.
