I have a computer but no Web Browser. I am searching for a free download of a Web Browser on the internet but have had no luck.

I am very new to Web Authoring. My only help is the book "Creating Web Pages for Dummies".

Now from here on is all goes pear shaped!

The book suggests I have a Web Browser and one of the following: A word processing program (saving with .htm), a Text editor or a HTML Tool.

I do not have Windows Office. So do you know of a freee download from the internet of a word processing program that saves html files with the extension .htm?

And do you know if I can download Netscape for free from the Internet? Is Netscape a Web Browser?

The idea while working in text editor or word processing program jor html tool save my html file using .htm.....then Open Weg Browser....then choose File: OPen page and if connected to internet to use mouse to cllick to view the appropriate web page.

I also want to acces a file from my hard disk which I believe is faster than accessing the same file on the internet. I just want to see how my html document looks in raw html and viewed as the actual web page.

Is is possible to run one of these three (word processing prog, text editor or html tool) and Web Browser at the same time? Can you use the ALT+Tab keys to move between applications?

I hope you can still follow?

I really appreciate you looking at this message. I do not have anyone else to ask.I only have the Dummies book and webdevelop.com

I would like a list of things I can download for free (or for a modest charge) that is one of the three named above (word processing program( to save as
.htm), Text Editor or html tool? Can you tell me which is the best to get and where it is on the internet?

And regarding the Netscape Browser. I do not know what one is. i am only following what is written in the Dummies book.

Please help

How are you searching the internet without a web browser? I think you may have the term confused.

Do not, under any circumstances, use a word processor to create web pages. They are gawd awful. To start out, just use Notepad.

Is is possible to run one of these three (word processing prog, text editor or html tool) and Web Browser at the same time? Can you use the ALT+Tab keys to move between applications? Yes.

Netscape is OK for a browser. Opera is much better at http://www.opera.com/ but, for web development help, I would get Firefox for its web developer tools. http://www.mozilla.com/ All of these are free.
