Im a tattooist and i have over 3000 fonts and i get asked all the time i would like a fonk like this or like that ( gothic , evil , funny font's )
the only problem is where i have so many i cant remember what font's what so i didnt no if there was a way to change the name so when i use notepad ect to make the tattoo i can just look down the list of font's and find the fonts easy

( eg )
gothic 1
gothic 2
gothic 3
funny 1
funny 1
ect ect ect

my os is xp pro if that help

I don't believe that you can rename your fonts, as they are copyrighted with that name.

What I recommend though, which may take some time but I think it would be worth it, is to create a font sheet, where you type the names of each font and have them in that font for all your fonts then print them out so you can hang em on the wall and customers can point to the one that they like and you know which one it is.
Example
Arial (in Arial font)
Helvetica (in Helvetica font)
etc
I know it will take some time, but even if you were going to rename your fonts, that would probably take just as long. (you could even categorise them into Gothic Funny etc if you wanted, but I would just put them in alphabetical order)

i understand what your saying mate but having over 3000 fonts hanging up would take alot of space away from my flash work

I encourage not to change fonts name unnecessary as it may bring inconvenience to you when you are working like on a microsoft words and then found out the font is not available. When in fact you have change it...

Maybe you could move them to sub-folders where the folder names identify the styles of the fonts.
