I have embedded 3 super small quicktime movies into my index page of my site. I wish to remove the blue "Q" for Quicktime that displays while my movies are loading. I have looked thru so many tags none of which control the loading screen. Does anyone have a clue how to display nothing until the movie loads?
I myself detest QT as well. I am using dreamweaver mx. I want only to play 3-5 80x80 10 second video clips on the index page on a loop. I don't want to force people to download something just to view the movies as well. And I do not want to turn them to flash instead. That triples the sizes of the files even after compressing the movie. I don't want controllers or anything. Here is the link to the index's test page I am using. I want it exactly the same as here minus the QT load page. If this is possible with a different multimedia player then definately please let me know. http://home.ntelos.net/~jesswartz/Pages/indextest.html

Thank You everyone for your replies as well I have moved to this forum because I haven't gotten any new replies and I still need help!

I don't think you can, its actually part of Quicktime on the client computer. If you want your own "loading" then this should be done in Flash. It's easy to import Quicktime into Flash, and I don't know statistics, but I think Flash (Shockwave) Player is more common than Quicktime player.

I don't know statistics, but I think Flash (Shockwave) Player is more common than Quicktime player.Marcomedia Flash Player -- 97.7%
Apple Quicktime Player -- 65.9%
Macromedia Shockwave Player -- 55.4%
as December 2005 (NPD Research (http://www.macromedia.com/software/player_census/flashplayer/))

Well how come it triples the size to put it into flash. It's not feesible for dial up people. Especially since these files are only 222 kbs to begin with. I'm not great with flash at all, actually I stink at it. Is there some pointers I'm missing when I make my movies flash?

Thanks again in advance.

The Q isnt part of your file its clientside and part of your own setup, it alerts the client to a movie download. Change the file extension to .wmv and you'll prob get a different load screen. Not sure why you don't like QT, its obviously well supported, has a great compression rate and has more control than wmp or rp.
