Hey LCF,
Can we add onto your macromedia guy petition the attached ad. I hate these ads!! I know I could just turn off my sound, but why should I have to.

I don't find her that annoying. Whenever I need someone to talk to she's always there. She also only speaks when asked to :p

Oh, Gosh, I HATE her. I think I prefered the Macromedia guy. At least, HE didn't speak !!!
Everytime I load the page, she starts to speak, and it ruins my music :(

Same for me !!! lol. It happened to me more than once... Especially in the middle of the night, when I'm getting tired and seriously thinking of going to bed, and here goes this stupid smiley : HEEEEEELLLLLLOOHHHHHOOOOOOO !!!!! :eek:

Lol finally!! Thanks guys .. no-one ever understands the annoyance of those smileys .. and i know what you mean about late at night .. happened to me before when ive been watching a movie on laptop on surround sound then checked my emails afterwards without muting my sound ... shrieked like a girl!!

I don't really like her, or those talking 'bots in general. I find their facial expressions and labial gesticulations to be way too artificial... Turn the sound off and you'd absolutly be convinced that she's swearing the most vile, obsene trailer-trash vulgarities and curse words at you! The facial expression for anime-'bot speech still has a long way to go, although I did see some rather nice ones on some news site from the U.K. I think it was. She 'reads the news' to you, you cannot make her say things. I guess that way the talkie-bot's facial expressions are be better predicted and managed and the 'bot sounds some bit less 'artificial' like that Stephen Hawking speech device (which is very kewl for what it is, btw)...

And it's moot to me anyway, as I have Firefox with AdBlockPlus running, so I have her blocked anyway, and the wd.com forum loads up faster in her absence...

Not that I'm encouraging this though :o jupitermedia probably get some nice $ from these ads - so click on them and have a look every now and then to keep this forum going strong :cool: :D
