I am trying to connect to my Home network. The router has been installed successfully, and I already have one computer up and running on the network for file sharing and printer sharing. Unfortunatley, I cannot remember what I did to make the first one work! Now that I am trying to connect this second laptop, I don't know what to do! Can anyone help me?

The computer I am trying to connect as a client on our network is running Windows XP Home Edition and the desktop, or the computer I'm trying to connect to, is also running XP.

Can anyone help? I can get on the internet with it, the network shows up, but none of the computers on it are available or even show up when I attempt to Map Network Drive.

Thanks for anything you can suggest,

r u using any firewall on the host XP pc? If not, XP is using its own firewall. And its the reason. u have to go to Control Panel > Administrive Tools > Local Security Policy on both the computers and add the computer name into each under "Local Policies > User Rights Assignment > Access this computer from the network".

Hope this will help.

I don't seem to have Local Security Policy in my control panel... on either computer! Is there an alternate method of accessing it?
