Hi Guys,

I finished building and post my site online, but something happened with me I couldn't understand, Please explain it to me:

I rented a domain name and configured it well to display my site which is locally hosted, anyway I can send e-mails from my domain (for ex. bashar@mydomain.org) but when somebody want to reply to my e-mail or send an e-mail to bashar@mydomain.org he recieves a failure message indicate that the sent party is not like a recipient.

Could anybody explain this to me, and where the problem could be (DNS, MX, or A records)???

Best Regards,

So what mail server are you running on your "locally hosted" site?

Chances are, if you're running your domain from your own PC, and all you've done is use PHP(?) to send out mails from your mailserver, then the problem will most likely be that you haven't configured your mailserver to accept incoming mail. If a mail server came pre-installed with your OS (like on pretty much all Linux OS's) then it'll be configured by default to be able to send mail, but for security reasons, not to accept incoming mail.

thank you stephen for replying, I got the domain from ISP and they manage the domain.
