Please can we start using IMG tags and HTML code.

It it is much easier to do something with both!

Why do you need to use HTML in threads when you have the vBulletin code?

And no, images aren't allowed, except in the coffee lounge. If you need an image to demonstrate something, then you can either attach it to the post or link to it.

Allowing images in posts would make it even easier for spammers to advertise by putting up a big flashy advert (if only for a short while until a moderator bans them).

also, images increase the load time for pages, which detracts and annoys dial-up users.

i agree about the bandwith thing but wouldnt 99.9% of us have a spread fire icon if we had html enabled and most of us live in the 21 century and have high speed :)

It's not your bandwidth he's talking about, it's the SITE'S bandwith. Image tags are not needed here.
