Removing lettering or pictures with fireworks

im trying to remove lettering or pictures off of a back ground without messing up the background. Example: Remove a picture off of someone blue shirt and the shirt still blue all the way around.

ps.. i can tell it wasnt on the shirt orginally but someone put it there using a graphic software

paint brush with the right color, or clonestamp tool if fireworks has that

i dont know what the clone stamp is but i tried using the rubber tool but dont think i was using it right..... can anyone else help me
