I use FrontPage to create websites. I have not used any other program in the 6 yrs I've been creating websites. My ISP no longer has the function to create usernames & passwords (all controlled by me using their web based program) and I am at a loss. I need to be able to create usernames & passwords to a site that is uploaded using FrontPage - FtP extensions are turned on. I have no experience using scripts or coding - just FtP.
Can anyone offer some suggestions and simple instructions. I do have access to CGI-Bin (not sure how to use that either).

I'm not sure how to tell you this... however you have 2 choices...
1. learn another way/program - A standard FTP program might do it.
2. Email tech support and explain your issue.
I'm feeling your pain, however just because you've been doing it for 6 years doesn't mean you can't change now.
I'm sure this wasn't the answer you were looking for however It might also be helpful to know a little more about your host. If your host is your local Cable company or some such place they are well known for being totally heartless and will change entire setups without any notice at all.

FrontPage has it's own system for creating and managing usernames/passwords which does not require FTP access (it's under Tools -> Permissions). Here is a tutorial for setting it up: http://www.outfront.net/tutorials_02/fp_techniques/frontpage-subwebs.htm
You could also use .htaccess for setting up users and passwords, here is a VERY easy tutorial on starting that: http://www.password-protection.com/
The only trouble you may run into is if you have FP extensions installed: http://www.freewebmasterhelp.com/tutorials/htaccess/
If you have any quesrions at all, feel free to ask.
Hope that helps some :)
