Either way anyone could help. If someone is willing to help me with a few rough drafts that would be great but even some direction would help..

depending on how good/detailed you want your logo to be that can require quite alot of effort. i'm quite busy with a proect at the moment, so if i get a chance i will have a go. otherwise have a look at www.cooltext.com its really basic, but it might help. it helped with my first website...

Ugh, online logo creaters look so tacky.

You really do need to tell us what you're looking for. At least tell us what type of site it is.

From a marketing point of view, you would want a simple logo so that you could scale it and make it a favicon on the url bar. How about a simple elipse "eye" background with a capital J in front?

How about the head of a bluejay with an accented eye?

What is this website about? A logo generally doesn't look right unless it fits with its surroundings. Atleast I think it doesn't. I try to base a whole website around on thing I pre-decide. Wether it be; Logo, Text, colors, feel, etc. You have to take all of these things into consideration when desiging a logo or website.

I reccomend playing around in photohop and taking a look at other logos that have a similar meaning as you. But don't copy other people's work, obviouslly.

Try AAA logo, get the trial (or buy it). It is really good.

If a logo is the first thing your customer/client/fanbase etc see then surely it should be an important part of your branding. I work in advertising developing logo's as well as loads of image retouching. I would have to know what logo/company was trying to portray. Simple examples of how things can be inappropriate: font: Shatter for a windown glazing company? font: Blur for an optician? Is the logo to be masculine or feminine? retro/contemporary/future? colours: laid back/quiet/reserved/pastel or loud/lary/bold/saturated?

Give ppl an indication of what you are trying to portray before you ask for a logo.
Thats my tuppence!

In the bottom right is a smaller thumbnail version for a fav. icon thingie.

I can compress better. That's 14kb, max quality.

What's your opinion?

I'm new to the forums and I know their have been many posts for logos. But, I just wanted to put this one out there to see what people think of it. I purposefully added the dither to the edges, it is part of the appeal to this particular image. Any feedback will be greatfully appreciated.

EyeJay, good luck on your site buddy!

Nice, WebWisp.

Poxicator, that would look even better if you anti-alaised the edges.

Is EyeJay likely to come back and post ever?

As EyeJay hasnt returned with an explanation of what its going to be used for, or indeed the size, I thought the likelihood is its going to be a small image within a background or background colour. The problem with giving images a soft edge is they gradiate out to white and therefore on a background colour we show a white (or just off white) edge to them. So, you have to argue whats best, the white edging or the jagged edges. That's why its always best to include the background colour with the image for optimal results.
However, as the original is created in illustrator I don't have to worry about resolution or jagged edges :D
