I found what seems quite a good looking site
its at http://www.starpropertyinvestment.com
looking at the code -- here is a bit --
is it generated by DW do you think ?
or is it just using shockwave ??
<td width="194" bgcolor="#000000" align="center">
<object classid="clsid:D27CDB6E-AE6D-11cf-96B8-444553540000" codebase="http://download.macromedia.com/pub/shockwave/cabs/flash/swflash.cab#version=6,0,0,0" width="194" height="88" id="flash_text" align>
<param name="movie" value="flash_text.swf">
<param name="quality" value="high">
<param name="bgcolor" value="#000000">
<embed src="flash_text.swf" quality="high" bgcolor="#000000" width="194" height="88" name="flash_text" align type="application/x-shockwave-flash" pluginspage="http://www.macromedia.com/go/getflashplayer">
</embed>
</object>

eh your question doesn't make much sense...
What you showing is tags for flash file which is most likely created in Flash
As far as the whole page it doesn't say what it was coded in, could be FrontPage.
It has that FrontPage template feel to it!

Well - thanks for looking at the site.
İt looks quite good to me - I keep hearing that FP is rubbish !
I have MM flash MX - so can I generate the same sort of site ?
Plus the rest of the Studio MX which is
DW, Freehand, Fireworks etc.
But I have not yet got started learning it yet.
Your advice would be helpful. :)

So - is it a DW template or someother template that has been bought ?
Where would I find nice templates ? :)

IF its microsoft template then it would be FrontPage not DW.
You have all the tools to make a website,
You use Flash to make a flash movies like the banner on top of the site.
DW is you html editor which allows you to put your site together.
Fireworks is your image software where you can create your images and optimize them for the website.
I suggest you google tutorials for these programs to give you more understanding on em!

Well I just had a look at another nice easy to use website called http://searchwarp.com/
This looks all tables and lists.
and yet its a hugely successful site !
I assume that it the articales are all automatically classifies and loaded with a content manager ?
I guess Fegall and Drhoward - you both dont like the design ??
- Forgive me but I am trying to get my head round some of the comments on design that I,ve read.

It doesnt suggest DW to me but I'm not that advanced to tell, some of the coding seems unnecessary but perhaps it was originally created or copied from a raw html app.
I'm not sure what you like about the site though apart from the obvious flash banner and even that could be pulled apart (the text doesnt have much emphasis). Look at the indents for the body copy (about us), there's a variety of them plus flush left and centred copy, that doesnt make for a good design or an easy read. The nav buttons are ugly and rather ragged shape and do not have a hover state. In Property the images do not align with the top of the text (apart from 1) and nor is the space between the images regular. The spacing between the heads and the body copy varies. On each page there's .swf file The Intelligent Choice, why? because they can, no more reason than that! There's no padding around the image on the about us page so the text is too close.
I could continue but it would be a little harsh. Fact is its not well designed which I'd have though to be very important within a "specialist" (see header) or "star" Property Investment website.

Thank you Poxicator.
Everything you said was very helpful. Actually any other critism would be great as I will do my best to avoid all these points when I build my site.
