Safari hangs on loading my images

Here are two test pages:

while the images may load fine the first time, clicking on the "index" link to flip between the two pages in Safari usually causes it to hang. the problem seems inconsistent; reloading sometimes works and sometimes doesn't...

i'm not sure if this is a CSS thing or what. i am using a template page and designing in Dreamweaver. i created the images in ImageReady.

also, emptying the cache in Safari temporarily makes the problem go away (until you go to the other page again).

seems to work fine in all other browsers. what's the problem??

seemed to work fine for me although the links don't lead me anywhere. I guess this is still under construction
