Whoa - you've got some serious spamming going on in your metadata. I suggest you get rid of the multiple occurrences of text in your keywords.
The design is rather plain, sort of "straight-from-the-template" like. You might customize the design, so that it is more visually appealing, perhaps using some of the colors in the banner. I like the clean look of it; it's just a tad sterile.
Good Luck -

That was my thought as well. It could use a little color too.
What about centering it on the page?

Thanks for the comments Ive now changed the colour scheme to match logo but now I think its too bright. ???????? Also ive centred the page .
How do you do it in CSS because Ive just centered it on the "centre table"
Does it look better??????
Place this right after your <body> tag:
<div style="text-align: center">
and this right before the closing </body> tag:
</div>
Here's the info: http://www.student.oulu.fi/~laurirai/www/css/middle/
It is a bit bright. You might tone the green down a little by adding some gray, using a blender like this: http://www.meyerweb.com/eric/tools/color-blend/

I have used an online gradient maker to do the gradients at:
http://tools.dynamicdrive.com/gradient/
you do not have alot of control over it so I will try again

It's looking better. I like the gradient header bars. They do seem a little bright but they might not seem so bright if you change the green text to black instead.

Do you think I should colour the background??
Thanks for your input
I'd leave everything in the container white. You could change the background of the body. I wouldn't use a bright color - that would only distract from your content.
You might look for color inspiration here: http://www.hitmill.com/html/rgbcolorvalues.html or here: http://infohound.net/colour/
One thing - I'd change the "Free" color in the banner, closer to the green in your gradient.

Cheers thanks for the compliment. Ive just been looking round your site nice site I take it its database driven. That will be the next thing Ill be asking for help on here for. I want to change it to php/mysql when I learn how it will be much easier to update.
Again thanks for the input and comments :)
Do you mean http://kdla.ky.gov?
That's all hand-coded, manually changed, CSS-styled.
No databases here....

Yes thats the site I was on about I saw the search box and thought it was database, I didnt know you could put a search box on static pages for site search. hows it done??
Our state's network is run by NIC, a subsidiary of Google. It's something they've set up via IP address and hidden form fields. We don't control it from our server. The search is on our site, but the search results actually come from their server, which spiders our once or twice a week.

Ok. Is it easy to set this up or is it a special agreement you have with NIC :confused:
No problem. It's a special contract, providing our state's government web services Google-like capabilities. It cost us (our state) millions of dollars (14, I think) to use. I don't think it's available for small sites; more like corporate networks. There are several other U.S. states who've gone this route, too.
