hi
try wwww.chami.com for an editor, www.htmlgoodies.com for an intro to basic html. www.w3schools.com is also an excellent source for help. Excellent ftp software is bullet proof (you get a free 30 day trial, then it's 29 US dollars) from www.bpftp.com.

DO NOT GO NEAR THE HTML GOODIES SITE!! It is full of inaccurate and incomplere information.
HTML Kit, the editor from chami, comes with an onboard ftp. Windows has one built in -- open the shell and type "ftp". But I prefer Filezilla (http://filezilla.sourceforge.net/).

true, a lot htmlgoodies is out of date, but its a nice place to start. Fair enough though, stick to www.w3schools.com

Not sure what you mean by an "ftp service", but a nice ftp program that I use is "miFILES" (stands for "my internet FILES"). It's FREE, quite reliable, fairly easy to understand and to set-up and use. I use it almost daily for any one of a dozen or more sites that I service.
