Hi,
after reading some of the comments here, Im ready for a pasting, its my first real go at a site tho':
www.georgianglass.com
thanks in advance (be gentle)
(NB: the lack of e-commerce is intentional, as the guy who wanted the site wants to negotiate with potential buyers)

Not bad for a first site!

A few suggestions:

- Make the text credit for the DHTML menu smaller
- Use the organization's "real" name rather than the web address for the page title; having "Georgia Glass" as two separate words (without ".com") will be better for search engines
- The color scheme is a little "blah." Some usage of blue would be nice.

Good Luck -
KDLA

Hi there
I noticed that the images that you are using at the top took a very long time to load. It seems that it's because they are all large images that are resized within the browser. If you resize the images yourself with an image editing program, you could easily cut down your loading time by 80% or more.

And well done for your first site!

Very nice site and with a little cleanup I think it should do fine. Easy to view and go to various links.

One previous comment was to have more color. I agree. Use a nice, not too bright color, as the background for your link boxes and I think it would add the touch needed. Such as a burnt amber.

Sorry KDLA, in the past I think that I have agreed with you on everything I read in your comments. One, question, why make the link text smaller? The smaller the size the harder it would be to read. If a smaller text is used, I would recommend bold.

I use a 2 monitors, 1 at 800 X 600 and the other at 1024 X768. There seems to be alot of white space horizantally. When looking at 1024 X 768 it displays well, BUT the horizantal scrollbar is still displayed, suggesting that there is more to see and there isn't.

When I view it in 800 X 600, the scroll bar is still there and about 1/4" of the site is not displayed. You have plenty of extra space to bring the sides in slightly so no scrolling is necessary. Also, there is still all that white space. AM I MISSING SOMETHING REGARDING THE WHITE SPACE?
