Hello,

I developed the website for our company, Thinc Media. I'd like to know what you guys think about the usability of the site, if it lacks information, etc.

Thanks.

The site is: http://www.thincmedia.com

I like your header and design work and colors.

Suggestions:

1. The gray border above ABOUT goes up on each side and sort of looks out of place.

2. On the home page what makes the user want to click on the feature box? You can't read the text in the box, so I think I would do something like change the FEATURED heading to "CLICK FOR FEATURES". But, FEATURES isn't right either, for when you click on box you don't get FEATURES, you get a menu. Maybe you should simple say "CLICK FOR MENU", but then again I like the menu on the first page.

But, if you were to change it to "CLICK FOR CLIENTS", you would be technically correct, but then it might now do well with users, for clients are not of the utmost importance to most users unless they really find something in your site that draws them to want to look at your clients. YOU REALLY NEED TO REVIEW WHAT YOU ARE TRYING TO ACCOMPLISH HERE.

3. In the clients left box, you show the website. I would underline it so that users know that it is a link.

4. Now I clicked on PORTFOLIO and have thumbnails of your clients ? page ? When I hover over "Oasis Indoor Golf" below their picture, the name underlines, but you can not click it. It isn't a link or does it simply not work. Then, I hover over the picture and click here and it loads the same picture that I seen when I clicked FEATURES. Why twice.

5. Keep your menu items on the left and add to them. Keep your header artwork. Then re-think what you are doing about your clients.

Thanks for the review,

I'll have a look at the issues you've mentioned. Out of curiosity, what browser / OS are you using?

Thanks

IE . . . 70 to 80 % of users use IE. The rest of the users are mainly programmers. I'm only interested in IE.

Cool interface, but the content on main page is just small in length. Font size of links in footer should be smaller than the current.

I'm using IE6 on 1024x768 resolution.

The language is vague and doesn't seem to give much information to the viewer; it is business jargon boasting about the company, all from a company point of view.

Instead, you need to focus on what the viewer might want to know about you, and put it in the simplest terms possible.

Two books you might look at:
Content Critical by Gerry McGovern and Rob Norton
Don't Make Me Think by Steve Krug

Good Luck -

I think its quite good Coeus .. although all sites are always a work in progress its quite good ... ive seen worser sites from billon pound companies (no names) .. I like the contact sheet as its quite tidy and well laid out compared to some. Agree with KDLA to an extent about maybe more raw information but sometimes corporate boasting can be more beneficial than knowledge of a company depending on who your target audience is
