TheBearMay 05-08-2006, 11:14 AM Rather vague... Are asking how to open a document (File|Open) or how to tell what the name of the open document is (File|Properties)? Charles 05-08-2006, 03:18 PM We're talking about my time sheet. I keep each week's sheet saved accordiong to the day the sheet is due, Friday, and using W3C DTF. This week's sheet is 2006-05-12.sxc. Three of the cells in the sheet are the month, day and year the sheet is due. Because I 'm lazy, and to add a wee bit of QC, I want to stop having to edit the date on the sheet since I've already established it with the file name. I can access the file name for the header and footer and I can get it in the Word Processor, -Insert, Fields, Other, File name - but I can't figure out how to insert it with the spread sheet. But perhaps it would be easier to write a macro that saved the sheet according to the value of the fields - if only I knew how to do that. TheBearMay 05-08-2006, 09:29 PM Going to have to play a little to see if I can figure that one out. TheBearMay 05-10-2006, 07:56 AM Charles it looks like you should be able to do this with javascript macro, but I haven't been able to test it because everytime I try to execute a macro OpenOffice closes down. webdeveloper.com
