I have writen my first web site, so I am still kind of a newbe

I wanted a more profession look so I made a test page, http://site.frih.net/new/

Which is better? Is there anything I am doing wrong?

I like the new version: easier on the eye and easier to read. One suggestion that came to me would be to add a background to the navigation links on the right similar to that used along the top of the page.

I like the second version as well. I would make the links have a hover effect on rollover.

I definately like the newer version. Easier to understand the navigation structure, nice css layout, loads quickly.

I would make the links at the top stand out a little more by creating a "button" look or changing the link color...this is the only minor modification I would have made. Otherwise, a nice and clean design.

I am glad that it is not only me that likes the second version. I think it loads at twice the speed of the older lay out.
