I am currently using Macromedia Fireworks to redesign my site (till I get Photoshop.)

I know how to slice and then export to HTML. After that I will remove the images I don’t need to keep the file size down in an HTML editor. I guess my
main question is: Is this really the appropriate way to design a site?

I know everyone has different opinions.

Last question: What is the maximum file size a web page should be so it’s accessible for dialup users?

Thanks.

Hi -
Ask someone with a slow connection if the site took about 10 seconds
to fully load...if so, you're probably okay...

I love the Export Area tool because then I'm free to handcode all of the
css needed to utilize the images as bkgnds. - or if necessary, in the html
content.

You might want to place guides before selecting the area and set the
bkgnd. to be transparent first.

Have fun,
