connecting to other sites

hello, i'm very new to webpage design and i'm trying to build my first one...
but i need to be able to acces some information from other sites without just copying and paste . I also need to be able to update the information automatically when the other site updates..
is it possible to do this??

sounds like you're trying to steal information from other sites to me, so please explain what you are attempting to do on your site in detail and I'll try to help. If you're talking about posting news and such from big sites, most have feeds you can pull into your own site.. legally.

that's what i want to do!! what do i need to do? I don't want to steal anything from anybody ...just in case
