VB.NET

So, who uses dreamweaver or a similar full-scale editor (like ehmm FrontPage!) and finds it HELPFUL? I have been told DreamWeaver is pretty developer friendly, but still, I can't bring myself to spend days to just learn the program. I've used it a couple of times, and it only slowed things down.
Frontpage, which I've had the misfortune of using for years, is down right terrible. I'm sure I don't have to repeat that one.

I use dreamweaver for asp.net which is vb and it is great. I would never use front page I have it but I used it one time and came to the conclusion that it sucks bad bad bad... I would use notepad for my vb before frontpage. Stick with it I have mx dreamweaver and the intellitext catches a lot of errors before I test anything on the net so it makes me faster.

Personally, I can't imagine writing full-scale ASP.NET applications on anything besides Visual Studio.NET. But who knows, I haven't tried writing it in dreamweaver yet.

actually asp.net does very well on dreamweaver, I dont have vb.net I need to get a copy of the visual studio but for not dreamweaver works out just fine, before i had dw I had to use notepad so trust me its a big step up.
I use Dreamweaver, and really like the good support is has for PHP. The testing server is also nice (if PHP and a web server are installed on your local drive)

It is not that hard to learn Dreamweaver MX, and site management features are fairly useful for some.
The only times I ever use such products if I want do a search and replace over an entire website or want to quickly past some plaintext and have it partially formatted, although that then means extra editing to fix Dreamweaver's interpretations of line breaks, etc.
I use notepad, to code although sometimes, specific management features from other tools like Dreamwaerver save some editing time.

I had Dreamweaver before I even entered college and it was easy to learn..so was PageMaker (I think it is now called GoLive).
I agree about FrontPage..I recently made an earnest effort to attempt to understand its inner workings...I spent about two hours with it and I think I spent over half of that time sifting through endless menus just so I can change text colors...I think FrontPage is some sort of curse or something.
However everyone here has practically sold me on Homesite so I will research it more...maybe I will buy it someday.
I once tried a program called Cakewalk...but I cannot even remember whether I liked it or not..mostly likely didn't

I used dreamweaver for a short period, but then I changed to using coldfusion. I'm thinking about utilizing dreamweaver again for the asp.net stuff (I hear good things about that aspect of it :D)

Here's macromedias description:
With ColdFusion, you can build and deploy powerful web applications and web services with far less training time and fewer lines of code than ASP, PHP, and JSP. Now available in versions that support industry leading J2EE application servers, ColdFusion enables web application developers to easily harness the power of the Java platform. Over 10,000 customers and hundreds of thousands of developers worldwide rely on ColdFusion to deliver powerful web applications in record time.
Basically its a server side language such as ASP and PHP.

I should post a thread about what coldfusion is, what it does and how it works. :D that way I can easily reference it whenever the question comes up.
