Big Brother has started its 6th episode here in Australia. There are still quite a lot of people that love it, but there are so many more that just wish it would go away... Your opinion???

And while your here, lets talk about anything else to do with BB.

Eg: This year, BB sent a mother and daughter into the house together but as their first task, they had to keep it secret. If they failed they were up for nomination. We also have BB's Intruder this year also who has various missions each week he has to accomplish for BB, otherwise he gets nominated.

I absolutely despise it, along with the rest of reality TV. Watching other people living, I mean what's the point of that.

I'd much rather be watching something that makes me think, I like to watch things that are educational or informative or funny, not something that'll turn me into a vegetable.

I hate TV in general. Must of been a month already since the last time I've even looked at a TV.

Generally I'd agree with dave, but in the case of big brother, I occasionally make exceptions. I have a vague interest in the ones where they cut out all the sleeping and general nothingness, so long as something amusing is going on. I only ever really watched the first ever one and some of the 6th one. Couldn't stand the others.

Usually my late night TV viewing consists of the open university programmes, or if there's nothing interesting there, BBC news 24. I have very little interest in TV before 11pm. Here in the UK it all tends to be mind numbingly unintresting and about as thought provoking as a midget in a tumble-dryer. I also have a seething hatred of fictional "soaps" too. Crap like Eastenders and Corination Street. You'd be hard pressed to find something I hate more.

Anyways, I actually find the whole intsider thing pretty funny. Example: Michael's (The Insider) latest insider mission was to gain nomination points from at least eight housemates. Instead of doing the obvious and blatenly annoying everyone in the house, Micheal decided to convince other housmates that he is in the middle of a custody battle over his (completely fictional) eight-year-old son.

Personally I don't really dislike it although I wouldnt classify myself as a fan.

A midget in a tumble dryer? That sounds quite interesting and thought provoking to me.

I've never watched BB, but voted for "despise it" on general principles, in that I despise virtually all of the so-called "reality" TV shows. (They're all really more like game shows that don't take place in a studio and/or soap operas being acted by unknown actors - and if you think in the latter case they're completely unscripted and that the "actors" are acting just like they would in real life with no cameras on them, I've got a bridge in Brooklyn I'd like to sell you.)

Interesting range of opinions. Being that I particularly like the connection to the Internet part and am a huge fan of promoting Internet usage I would think more people would like the show in these forums. I've actually been a huge fan since season one here in the U.S.

The TV show isn't the same if you don't get the live feeds from the Internet. I don't know how many people I've gotten hooked on the show after they subscribed online.

I actually got hooked on it by watching the German feed years ago (7-8??). I couldn't understand it, language wise, you could still figure out what was going on and who didn't like who and such.

It is a bit annoying that I can't subscribe to feeds from other countries (or couldn't the last time I looked into it). Seems like they could be making more money by allowing anyone in from any country. Think I could easily follow along with ones from Australia or England even with the "accents" :p

I'd bet Survivor would be 100 times better if they could figure a way to have live Internet feeds. They edit out all the good stuff when it comes to the TV shows.

Waiting anxiously for our All-Stars season 7 to start here in the U.S. on July 6th.

As far as I know, you can watch the UK one online and I don't think it's ever been fee based.

It's been a while since I tried but as I seem to recall I never got far enough to see if they charged or not. It just flat out told me it was unavailable outside of the country it was being broadcast in.

All though I was bummed, from an Interent stand point I found it interesting. I guess they had a IP location system integrated into their site that only allowed access to visitors from that country.

I don't know if I could argue either way if that is a good idea or not.

Well just an update -- I was happy to see that if I want to I can subscribe to your Australian feeds from all the way out here in the USA with no problem.

I'm debating about subscribing for the 14 days until ours starts out here (BB withdrawls). It costs $8 Australian dollars. At the current exchange rate that means I would make $1.14 US :p OK I'm joking but I AM really jealous you can get live feeds on your cell phone for $6 a month. Unlimited??? Is there a catch or are you guys just that far ahead versus the U.S.

I don't know how many people saw King George W. Bush's speech last night but when he said the U.S. is the leader in technology I almost choked to death.

Any way bathurst_guy I like the idea that with the time zone I can see what I normally miss being at work in the U.S, but why do they penalize the prize fund for people making mistakes? What happens if someone knows they are going to be evicted and do everything they can to reduce the money???

Yea BB is due to start here in UK on 18th may. I cant stand it during the first few weeks but kinda like it and watch it if there's no interesting documentaries on in the last few weeks. Once it gets down to six or seven people they stop being polite and get a game plan started and its more entertaining to me during this last period, but im not gonna watch the 24/7 live feed **snores** .. One thing i am completely hooked on though is Lost (tv show on ABC) with the second series ending in may. LOL JPNYC ... very funny about the midget in the tumble dryer .. like that one!!

Big Brother is sooooo freaking boring. If you watch it for too long, then your brain cells will decrease. I don't mind reality TV shows, and, in fact, there are some quality ones (I think. But, of course it's my opinion since I'm writing it? Anyway...) like The Amazing Race and Survivor where the contestants actually have to think, and maybe scheme. The only thing I think is worse than BB is that one show called "I'm a celebrity, get me out of here." Hahah, the concept of that show was soooo underdeveloped and just plain stupid, IMO. I can't believe I was one of the people who actually watched it.

But, I have to say, one good thing about reality TV shows is there is conflict most of the time. It makes for interesting TV when people are arguing and fighting. JMBOTMVWSAO (Just my boring opion that Michael Vartan would still approve of).

If you really want to watch a show that makes you think, then watch Alias on ABC. That's an intelligently well written show where you must have a properly functioning brain to understand.
