color scheme generator

hey, I was wondering if there was any easy way that I can find colors that go with another random color. is there some method to do that? an example of this done in javascript is at www.colormatch.dk gut I cant make enough sense of it to find out how to do it. what I need is a script that gets one hexidecimal code in, and ouputs all the colors that go with it. preferably PHP.
