Hey there,

I own a Sony Vaio laptop, and I am stuck with some serious keyboard issues. By a series of unfortunate events, my h key and n key came off and wouldn't re-attach, so the only solution I had was to glue them back on.

This was fine except they refused to work, so I went about taking them off again. And then the h key decided to take the cushioning with it and the black button that is used to actually make the letter come up (fyi, I'm having to c+p all of my h's so I don't type in some weird ****ney accent).

This means it is the entire key plus the metal framing underneath (it wouldn't take the key when I first tried to put them back on and broke part of the hook parts on it) and the button and cushioning.

Could someone be able to tell me if A) This is even possible, B) Where can I get these parts, or C) If this is a complete lost hope (which is what I'm praying to any god available, isn't so).

I appreciate any help possible, thanks in advance!

it seems as though ur damaging it more when your trying to fix it...does your laptop have a warranty? try taknig it back so they can fix/replace it for you. either that or you could just insert a normal keyboard viz the usb port as a replacement..besides..laptop keybaords are troublesome anyway ^^

yea sony viao catches can be hard but not impossible to re-attach keys. Since it sounds already quite knackered just replace the keyboard. Its a fiddly job for a novice so take your time. Try somewhere like ebay and type in your laptop make and model. Usually its easy and cheap to get hold of a keyboard for sony computers as you get alot being scrapped on insurance deals and you can pick up a working keyboard. If you need a hand feel free to contact me on msn messenger on my profile.
