Is there another website like www.resourcesgraphics.com which offers volunteering roles for graphic designers, filling requests? I've volunteered on WWWResources, but it's just a waste of time, the way their request system works, people can't make new requests until the old ones are cleared out, and they're months or years old by now!

Thanks,
Ian

Well... let me ask you this...

Do you want to get paid for doing the work or do you strictly want to give away your abilities and talents.

Or are you looking to just build a portfolio?

I recently found a site that you have to pay to get listed but it looks more affordable than elance.com

I'm really just wanting to build a portfolio. I'm 16 and I don't want to deal with money over the net yet and i dont have that much to dish out to join a website. So currently I'm clearing the crap requests off of WWWResources and doing whichever ones I can so maybe the site will be useful again.
Thanks
Ian

I decided to take matters into my own hands at WWWResources. Since all the requests there ranged from a few months to a year old, I went through them all and got rid of them, so now WWWResources is functional again and receiving requests, works for me!

WWWResources is the only true volunteer website that I have found. It is a good place to get started, it ranks its designers, and there is a constant flow of requests, so long as someone is there to take them. I have stopped volunteering there because I have made my own website, where I will be trying to make money from my graphics.

www.resourcesgraphics.com

Also I have found a website with called Design Outpost. It works like a contest, where people looking for a logo, layout, etc. go and post a contest, with a set time and reward. They only accept artists with strong portfolios, so I am waiting until I open my business to apply there.

Hope this helps,
Ian
