i read a big list of free forums on the other thread, but i'm wondering which would be the best free forum to add

Really a matter of personal preference. Lots of them are good. Some people like some and not others, but from where I sit, there's quite a few good free ones.

vbulletin probably has the largest feature set, from the admin POV, but from the user POV I'm not sure.

However there are still many others out there that are pretty competitive on features and are freely available.

invision free is pretty good thats the one i use, if your famlier working with it like the person who works with mine, there are endless features you can add to it.

Yes, phpbb is great. I made a whole website off of it. Unfortunetly I had a HD crash a while ago.

I didn't have many members. The website was cool, I wasn't. That's just the way it goes. :P But, yes. *clears throat* PHPBB is good. Setup is a little complicated and if you screw it up you have to go into your MySQL database and fix it. :P

Voy isn't bad for message boards (If it's still around). I used to use InsideTheWeb, but that's been defunct for years.

I have been using phpBB3 for as long as it has been out. Before I did not like phpBB2 however this new version is awesome. It brings it right up to par with the other systems. I like it better than some of the paid scripts because of its large base community.
