I have many photo galleries on my personal website, and opted to place multiple photos on the same html document. Loading time is obviously slower than having multiple html pages per gallery, but administering fewer pages is much easier.
Instead of showing all of the photos downloading, I wanted to have a screen showing only a message or progress bar, something like "please wait....images loading", and only when the page has finished loading, does the viewer see the gallery, and the message/progress bar disappears.

I've been hunting for scripts, but no success.

Any ideas out there?

Thanks Khalid,
I was thinking along those lines.

I found a quick fix for now which gives a simple message while the page is loading.
The flash will have to be another projects.

Supposing I was on a slow connection, I'd probably leave a site if, it only had a message saying "Page Loading".

However, if the site had an additional message informing the user the images may take time to load, while I could see the page was rendering in the background I'd probably wait... Luckily for some most of my surfing is on T-1.
