I have a website which hosts Real Audio files and soon, perhaps, Real Video files. I see many hosting plans with lots of space and bandwidth available, do not support Real Audio and Video. Someone explained to me once that this doesn't mean people can't stream the files, it just means they can't use the rtsp:// or SureStream features which are only available on servers supporting Real. I was also told the difference between using rtsp:// and http:// was that rtsp:// only loads what you hear, as opposed to http:// which (if you skip to half way into a streaming file) it will load everything up to that point and use up bandwidth.

If going with a plan that doesn't support Real only means that it will use slightly more bandwidth and I can't use SureStream, I think I can survive. I'm not much of a fan of SureStream anyway so all I would be doing is wasting a little bandwidth, IF people skip through the streamed mixes a lot.

What do you all think I should do? I found a hosting plan with a company giving 35GB space and 100GB bandwidth on a Unix server. Has lots of bells and whistles but it does not support Real.

All input is greatly appreciated.

Thanks
