making my exisiting domain name private so no-one can see my personal details help...

I currently have a domain name with a domain name provider. It currently doesn't offer a private domain name registration service. I found a provider www.hostmywebsitenow.com that offers this private domain name registration service. to make my exisiting domain name private do i have to transfer the domain name from my current provider to this new provider, then can I make it a private domain name?

P.S
I know when you signup for a new domain name on that site you can make it private straight away but i don't want a new domain name.

I guess you would have to transfer it to them. Have you thought about asking them???

You can transfer a domain name between registrars provided you have been with your current registrar for at least 60 days. The new registrar should credit you for the time remaining until your domain expires but will probably want you to pay for a renewal straight away to extend the time (so that they get a payment).
