PLease post here any one you may know, and your expereince with them... brendandonhue 06-14-2003, 01:38 PM Why does it matter if the web host is well known or not??? svenicsale 06-14-2003, 02:23 PM Well, it doesn't actually, it's just that the well known hostings have blocked mail() and similar because of misuse by spamming... diamonds 06-14-2003, 05:16 PM don't try tripod. It supports perl, but not php. It does support e-mailing through perl, though! brendandonhue 06-14-2003, 05:21 PM lycos.co.uk has PHP support, not sure about mail()..... svenicsale 06-14-2003, 05:45 PM Yeah, but I don't know how to use perl to send mails.... I wanted to submit this post but there is no PERL POLL.. Can you explain me how to just send two values for ex. $name and $email that are entered into submit box form??? CyCo 06-14-2003, 05:59 PM ...so, are you looking for a perl email script or a web host that supports PHP...? svenicsale 06-14-2003, 06:04 PM Both.. I kinda like PHP but since I see that it is to hard to find appropriate hosting, I must use something else(*.pl) CyCo 06-14-2003, 06:16 PM free PHP hosting with mail() is a bit scarce... I can suggest Netfirms for free hosting, and a cgi-bin that will execute mail with no prob....of course "free" means banners on every page, though... Jona 06-14-2003, 06:19 PM Originally posted by svenicsale I kinda like PHP but since I see that it is to hard to find appropriate hosting, I must use something else(*.pl) That's not true. You can find many free hosts that support PHP (at least to an extent) easily. Finding hosts that support CGI and Perl, though, is a different story. http://t35.com/ supports PHP, and I believe mail() as well; though I haven't tried it. http://lycos.co.uk/ supports PHP and gives you a MySQL database--still not sure about the mail() thing, though. :p Jona brendandonhue 06-14-2003, 11:24 PM I have just tried it, and Lycos.co.uk does work with mail() pyro 06-15-2003, 06:48 PM You might want to take a look at these two site: http://www.free-php-hosting.com/ http://phphosts.codewalkers.com/ webdeveloper.com
