Hello everyone,
I have created software and I don't know what to do with it. I want to sell it and promote it out on the web but I'm not sure where to start. I don't have any money so I don't think I can do this for free, but can anyone give me some direction? I really appreciate it. :D

Hmm. Zero money marketing. Well you could go the shareware route and promote it off a free hosting web site.

Yes thats a good idea ray or you could hire marketing like myself. If you hired someone and said you wanted to sell it for (using this purely as an example and not price fixing or suggesting revenue costs or anything whatsoever) $30/£30 a time and offer them a cut of £5/$5 then logistic costs (like shipping) £5/$5 and then end with a net profit of £20/$20 for yourself per piece of software sold. This could work out slightly better than shareware. It all depends what your software is? Try to think target markability!

Yes, essentially a consignment kind of deal, which is one step between shareware and full licensing for marketing and sales by some established company. Unless you've got something really special though you have to put money into marketing to your potential reseller. I.e., you probably have to create prototype packaging and ads as part of the sales pitch. Tough to do for nothing.

Go freeware and make money via upgrades or add ons. Or go shareware. There's tons of free software dumps, directories, and link lists available on the Net where you can register your software. Also, add a REFER A FRIEND feature on the software so users can easily refer their friends to download your software for free.
