I have been working on a counter for my friend's business for the past while. I recieved help from members of this forum. That help worked and is greatly appreciated.

However, this inventory counter is becoming way to big. My friend has a magazine inventory and at month end he has to count about 1000 magazines that have various prices, ie .99, 1.00, 4.50, etc (75 prices in all) and all the mags are mixed up.

As he sorts the mags he wants to have a running total for each of the 75 prices. So I made used this counter and he could select a checkbox for each time he had a specific mag price. Then it will count the selected check boxes and display the results in a table below.

Any suggestions?

Here's a link to the counter.

Javascript cannot edit files and therefore cannot keep a file containing the data of which boxes were checked or not.

Unless I misunderstood your question, perhaps?

i just want to know if their is a simpler way to sort and tally his mags. the check boxes work fine. it has just become to large.

is there another way to tally mags into 75 different price categories without checkboxes.

thanx
