can someone explain frames to me?
ive used them before a little bit but forgot after a while...my last resort is dreamweaver and i really dont want to turn to that

this is a little off topic.. but why don't you like dreamweaver? I haven't heard to many negative things about it.

I dont like the whole frame layout idea. I would reccomend and Iframe its a whole lot easyer to manage and it works a lot more efficientally. It works exactly like a table cell (well the way it behaves). What you do for regular frames is make a frame set and save it and it will open up the other pages that you want it to open pretty much in a nut shell. There is a good tutorial about that on goodies but like I said the iframe run circles around it. <iframe scr="youpage.domain" name="name" width="width" height="height"></iframe>

also the dreamweaver thing
i like the program, its just i like to try to make the stuff on my own before using that. personal opinion i guess
