Hello All,
Since this has to do (perhaps) with Perl I thought I'd solicite your help.
I have a new program called SiteMapster. This is a program to help me place a site map on my site or for my site for Google to see, Acquire Cash For Notes .com (http://www.acquirecashfornotes.com) but I am confused and need detailed help.
They say "The map should be located as a .gz file on your server and the pinging (calling) of google is automatic. You can set this to by using your
admin panel. (I don't know if they mean their program admin panel which I don't think there is one or my hosts). The host company gave me this reply which is totally confusing to me:
"Thank you for contacting us.
This all depends on what file you set it to create in the config.xml
file. When you run the perl file it will tell you where it put's it, (NOTE: I don't know if the SiteMapster is using a Perl file or not?...)
you will see:
Writing Sitemap file "/homepages/xx/dxxxxxxxx/htdocs/sitemap.xml.gz"
so if this is in the folder your domain points to then you can just use
yourdomain.com/sitemap.xml.gz
Please refer here for more help:
http://faq.1and1.com/miscellaneous/24.html
"
Is there any one here who has done this, and perhaps used SiteMapster or who can take me by the hand and direct me???
All help is appreciated.
Thanks,
Tom
