We currently have a couple of databases set up via SQL Server running on our Win2k3 server (set up by an external company). We now want to develop our intranet with a few data-enabled applications and I though It would be a good idea to utilise the SQLserver environment we currently have.
I am therefore planning on writing a few ASP pages to pull data from a database on this server but having never done anything of this nature before don’t really know where to start.
Can anyone recommend a good starting place or tutorial on connecting to an SQLServer database from an ASP page? Basically, I want to learn the basics by connecting to the northwind database and pulling data from it before I do anything of my own. Can someone suggest where is should start?
Please be patient - i haven't done anything of this nature before, so be gentle! ;)
Thanks
