Animated Gif's

I have some animated Gif's on a page with links to a 'popup' window. When one of the links is clicked the animation stops, the popup opens and when the popup closes and the original page is in view again then animation does not move no more?

I have tried returning function calls with TRUE, my gifs are set to loop indefinately, all the HTML is fine.

for once this is a IE problem as the animation does not stop in 'Netscape' browsers it works fine their.

I have looked on the web but found answes that didnot work for me,
any suggestions.
P.S i do not really want to do a refresh as the links on the page(there are many) are taken frequently.

are you using them in an image rollover? why are you not just using a traditional image link with them why are you returning function calls and junk like that?
