Okay. Some say I'm nutz. I think I really am. I need a FormMail script on my website and have no idea where to start. I've talked to my host and they say CGI should work and ASP will not, so I gather I am okay there when trying to use the FormMail script.

My programming experience in Java is new/growing/limited. My HTML experience is average/above (I know enough to figure out a problem that my wysiwyg will not solve for me)... But I need advice on the best way to get a crash course in making this CGI script work.

Can anyone recommend a book that will tell it to me in laymans terms-- easy to understand and implement? Or am I hopeless and misguided? ;)

Thanks in advance
Amber

Unfortunately, be explained something in laymans terms will only help you to remain a layman. The best books available for Perl and CGI programming with Perl are listed at http://learn.perl.org/
Learning Perl is probably a good place to start. After that you can read from (free) http://www.perldoc.com/
