Has anyone else been knocked off a search engine by changing main web page?

Hi, I just got knocked out of several search engines right after I uploaded a
new main page. It is just too big of a coincidence to be anything else from
all at the same time at the same moment. Has this happened to anyone else?
Or have you heard why this happens and how to avoid it?

Its so hard to get on listed, I don't want it to happen again if they'll ever list
me again now.

Did you change the page name in any way (index.html to index.htm, etc.)? Did the content dramatically change? Either of these things could explain it.

All I did was move a word in the meta description tag. But luckily after several days it showed back up in the search engines again! Thanks!

Changing the name at all could hurt SEO, especially with google. They think the domain's been hijacked and freeze it.
