Hello. I am currenlty employed writing php apps, but am not happy with my current employer. I have a few years experience, and I have a resume, but I would like it to be the best possible. I was wondering if anyone could advise on a format for a php programmer resume. Any advice or links would be helpful, thanks.
I got my current job, which i have been at for a couple years, through a mutual contact, so no resume required, only interviewed. I have not actually written a programmers resume.

The best way to write a resume is this:
Join a big job search website then create a search for the exact job you want, save the text from all of the advertisements that match the search, get more advertisements from other places too. Then reverse engineer your resume to match the exact skills and lingo in the advertisement, if your skills dont fit then you either net to get them or apply for a different job.
Then once you have something to work with you can get someone with a bit of experience to look at it, usually programming jobs can go through recruitment agencys and they will usually want to give you suggestions before forwarding your resume on.
Otherwise find a friend who has an awesome one to have an edit once your done, oh and do not ever use a word resume template! there are only a few and most people know them all by now..... just start from scratch be critical and spend some time getting it to look nice.
Ive actually made a bit of a study of resumes in the past.... I dont mind having a look at it if you dont mind putting it up here after you have something to work with.

I can email you mine if you want, just pm me your email address.
It'll be protected though so you wont be able to copy from it and id like a promise you'll only use it as an example.
Otherwise all is cool.

Ive blanked out some stuff in there but it was all above board before doing so.
The one ive sent you is quite long, its my overall one that has everything in it, if I go for specific jobs with technologies I will expand parts and cut other parts to target it towards the jobs ad.
What do you think of it?
Ive tried very hard to develop my own style and layout so I can distinguish myself from the rest of the pack.
If you have any questions I dont mind answering them, ive helped a fair few people do this kind of thing so im used to it.

Oh yeah the other thing is, some of the language and the words i have used to say things might seem a bit silly even stupid thats done on purpose.
Alot of the time within IT Recruitement agencies are used or even just companies HR department, so often its not someone technical who is screening resumes or even doing the interviews. Everytime I have to list a technology or product I make sure i look at how its phrased in a few advertiesments first.
I nearly got cut in the first round for one job because of a single character....

Don't post resumes here, they will be removed. If you need someone to see it, just send it to them via e-mail.
