the only thing I miss on the home page is a site navigation.

The layout is pretty nice. Not too much and not too less :)

Well, seeing as you appear to be producing software, you should put some sort of introductory tag line to explain what you do on the front page.

It's an extended html editor.
Great to build websites in.
You can compare it with frontpage

Purists feel both Dreamweaver and Frontpage produce bloated code. They get a web page up quickly, but not necessarily efficiently.

and PHP is the programmer of HTML? What is a Purist? What do Purists think of www.12buzz.com?

Jim you are the scientist correct? What do you mean by dress it up more?

Purists are people who believe in one specific thing being done correctly... So in this case, a purist is someone who believes websites should be hand-coded using HTML and not with a program such as FrontPage or DreamWeaver.

"Dress it up more" tends to mean make it look more physically and visibly attractive. Encourage users to stay and explore the site using colours and images. Entice them into reading about the products available... It's all about "visual marketing" and "first impressions" - if the site doesn't look professional or visibly attractive, or it looks complicated to navigate, the user will go look for the information somewhere else.

The site looks good, load time was relatively quick on a 56k connection - probably due to a lack of images and relatively low file sizes.
As I mentioned before though - I wasn't encouraged to go further into the site other than what was on the homepage. I'm a naturally inquisitive person - so normally I'd investigate the site more than I did with this. The home page just didn't "draw me in".

Does anyone know why when using Java does the messenger window pop up but it has problem loading?

I thought your corporate page was very well done and a lot more attractive then your home page. http://corporate.12buzz.com/ looks more like a home page then the one you have up now.

Does anyone know why when using Java does the messenger window pop up but it has problem loading?

I'm not sure what you mean. Do you mean Java script? Are you talking about your Buzz Web Messenger? If so the window pops up and loads up fine for me.

Yes I agree I took some advice and contacted an actionscript designer and programmer for the home page. Guess I just need to wait and see if I get a reply.

We also need to add site navigation which is fairly simple and a quick explanation. I am trying to think of one now without giving away our future plans for the company.

A customer and shareholder of ours said when he opens the Buzz Web Messenger from the browser, it won't load, the java picture keeps churning. When I try it, I don't have this problem. Could it be something to do with using a Mac computer or he is on a dial up?

What questions would you suggest I ask him to fix the problem?

I'm not positive, but ask him to install the latest version of java runtime environment:

Does anyone know anything about bare metal computing?

jim2591

The term is old. Refers to C language of which I was brought up in. It's UNIX related. C is a powerful and fast language. It's still heavily used in the electronics industry because you are writing code 1 layer above the microprocessor or micro-controller. It's alos portable and has cross platform fubctionality. The book "The C language" by Ritchie is a good book and if your serious about writing actual hard core code I would advise you to get the book. C++ is a subset of see and is an "object Oriented"language. C++ and Visual basic have strong relationships.

Bare Metal is code stripped for process speed.

Buzz Technologies is currently working on a Bare Metal operating system that operates from a server and like you said it is super fast. That is the kind of website we want to project.

Yes, could be interesting, who are the big software companies?

jim2591
08-02-2006, 04:50 PM
Big software company and who really has the bucks are two different things. Adobe, after buying Macromedia is ripe with the bucks. I would have liked Macromedia to stay independent.

It's all relative as how you define it.

Ran into Mikey at Mango Bar, Bangkok. He says he will NOT be joining Buzz since Buzz never offered him an employment contract!!

He was pretty steamed since he gave up a great job at SAP for vapor at Buzz.

your design is not consistant through out your site it makes it harder and confusing to use.
