Are there any other web communities like webdeveloper.com out there, where you can ask and answer questions and help each other out with different web-related issues?

(and plz don't mention xpertsxchange =)

This forum is fine, but sometimes if you can't find an answer here, and no one replies to your question, then it's nice to be able to ask on other forums.

I wonder which site has the largest community of web developers?

Probably this one. Not too many others I know of have 1000 users online at once, rather frequently. If there's another larger one, I'm not aware of it. There are other "everything" sites that might have more users but this one's strictly webdev.

Ughhh experts exchange. From posts ive viewed there and from what other subscribers has said its not as helpful as expected. If im having to pay for support i expect it to be of a high calibre which it doesnt seem to be. I find people on webdeveloper some of the friendliest and most helpful on all online forums and its free as well instead of subscription based.

I agree, although I've never paid for support yet. There are too many options out there that are free, including persevering and keeping at it until you find the answer yourself.

Friendly!!! Let me start a thread about - "How do I protect my images/source code" and see how quickly that changes ;)

No really in all seriousness I have to say this is the best one I've come across.

Thanks for posting those others JPnyc. I some times have questions or like to read other peoples issues about non-web stuff i.e. Photoshop.

I was looking around earlier on the drop down jupitermedia box and found another forum called Sharky forums (http://www.sharkyforums.com/) and it looks quite good as its computing in general.

(Another forum i wouldnt recommend is scienceforums .. very annoying)

I believe that the Sitepoint Forums (http://www.sitepoint.com/forums/) are the largest webdev forums on the net. However I still much prefer these forums.

If you have questions specific to testing or quality assurance, I highly recommend QAForums.com (http://www.qaforums.com/).

Don't get me wrong, this site is excellent!

I'm just wondering if there's other Javascript/DHTML/AJAX type sites out there that can answer questions.

You know with the nature of this type of programming, things aren't always logical, and there's a lot of trial and error involved. Getting answers from other people is definitely a time-saver. I like a challenge, but I don't like this type of challenge :P

So are there any good javascript forums out there?

Ajax forums? We don't need no stinkin' Ajax forums ;)

Post under JavaScript, you might be surprised how many competent Ajax users you'll find. Of course, you'll probably also get a short lecture on usability (which I do highly recommend you listen to :D).

This forum has never failed to answer any of my questions... I only hope what I contribute is as valuable as what others do.
