 Well, hi, I am new at this of building web sites and today I uploaded my first web site files , don't know if did it right or not, but anyways, my questions is, by the way I did it with dreamweaver, anyways, I am kind of an Organize freak, so on the root folder of my site I have everything in subfolders. For exaple, the Links folder, Graphics folder, Pictures folder, u get the point, so the guy from Go Daddy, which is the company my customer is hosting the web with, told me that everything I upload can be in folders, but I could not upload the whole root folder as one folder with subfolders and the index page in one of the subfolders, which is the way I had done it, so he told me to upload only the subfolders but that the index page had to be outside and not inside of the folder, so that it could overwrite their index page that they have originaly there, wich is the ones that tells u that the web is not working yet, anyways. Is that right?

Is it going to work fine if I upload all the subfolders I had inside the rootfolder but with the difference that I took the index page outside the Links folder and left it out(u know just not inside any folder), I was wondering becasue that is the way I did it, but I have to wait 24 to 48 hours to check if the web site is working.

WOW I wrote a lot, sorry if I confused u, is just that I am kind of confuse and worry that my web wont work because of the way I organized it, and I really don't want to doit again, since I have a lot of pages and links on it!

By the way, I uploaded using Internet explorer, with the ftp address.

Basically your index page, that is the page you want visitors to see when they first visit the site should be outwith any subfolder.

The only thing you will need to change when you move your index page outside of the links folder is to update links to pages and images but Dreamwever will ask you if you want to update links when you re-save the page so just select 'Yes'.
